They say that mother’s love is always present in any of the species. But there are times when that love and care is transferred far beyond the species, and you can see animals of different species letting themselves be carried away by the maternal instinct. The story of Ashlyn, a pitbull dog who surprised her by taking over and adopting a baby raccoon named Eto, recently came to light.
As reported, the pit bull rescued the baby raccoon, who had been abandoned by her parents, and taught her to live and socialize. And it is that Eto, the orphaned raccoon, was found inside a car wheel by volunteers from The House of Oakley shelter, in the United States. Where the dog Ashlyn was found. The two looked at each other like strangers.

But as the weeks went by, the dog was showing signs of appreciation and affection towards Eto. Who just needed a mother who could take care of him. The workers at the facility were impressed with Ashlyn’s ability to adapt to the situation. And above all to welcome this little one who had been abandoned.

You will never find a more caring mother than Ashlyn. She always surprises her great love for the innocent, “they said from the shelter that has been in charge of the dog for a few years. Despite the mistrust, the two became inseparable over the months. Ashlyn taught the little raccoon to swim, to fish, and to behave in nature. Her friendship grew and the baby raccoon built his own personality. At first she treated him as if he were a son. But over time Eto grew and they already had a friendly relationship in which they even played, jumped and bit each other.

With the passing of the months, Eto was able to return to nature as a wild raccoon. But the shelter volunteers say that from time to time Eto returns to visit Ashlyn. Who was the mother of her false of her during the first years of her life. «Ashlyn had no problem with her departure. She thought something like ‘she has grown, I have to let it fly,'” the shelter volunteers concluded.
